I am your brother in Christ, Frederick Douglass.
A person, while on earth, was born a slave, escaped to freedom, a lover of the gospels, self-taught, and both respected and reviled, but always aware that I was loved by God and protected by His angels. As an abolitionist, an author, speaker, and preacher, I attempted in the most loving way I could, with all my heart, to plead for the freedom of my people and for justice, and to point out the hypocrisy of religious institutions, including my own Methodist church. And because of this dichotomy that exists to this day, I come again, and I come with my brother Lincoln, whom I knew while on earth and worked with to enlist men of both colors in service to the great Civil War, which tore the country apart.
It is important to remember that there are penalties for taking one’s life, another’s life, and for promoting or encouraging others to do so. But the penalties of the oppressed who seek to be free from their chains are much less than those of the oppressors, and we must always remember to love our enemies. In this day and age, in this time, there is still the lust for power, possession, supremacy, and class difference, sexual inequality, and racial inequality still exist. One can wonder how a person following the teachings of Jesus or any of the illumined teachers of the ages can act with unkindness, superiority, or violence towards another. The answer is quite simple: beliefs of the mind do not carry into actions of the heart, do not change the soul, or relieve it of its errors and, as you would say, encrustations. However, those who truly love God and truly pray, they are able to also truly love all beings, to see the oneness of God’s children regardless of class, color, or belief. And so, allowing your will to be superseded by the great will of God is the correct spiritual practice. And this practice comes from deep and sincere prayer, letting your thoughts go, your concerns, your failures, your anger; letting go and allowing God, His holy spirit to put the great gift of His love in your soul.
A soul being transformed begins recognizing the oneness of all of God’s children, walking in peace, speaking in love. Only love will heal the great rift. And even I, at one time an adversary of even Lincoln, whom I did not believe to be sincere, had a change of heart after his Emancipation Proclamation, stating unequivocally the equality of all God’s children. The world is in great need of this healing, and as you pray with each other and encourage deep prayer, sincere faith to prevail, you shall change the world. You shall find yourself in a state of equanimity, harmony, clarity, empathy, and compassion for all beings.
I am so grateful for the time you have given me, for I wished to speak through my brother here for quite some time, and I do not come often to this earth plane, but I promise you, I will come as often as necessary to help heal the world.
I am your brother in Christ, and I am an inhabitant of the celestial kingdom. I thank you. May God bless you.
