GIBSONS RETREAT CENTRE CLOSING DECEMBER 14, 2022

In our daily lives there is little opportunity to explore and nurture our deeper selves. Usually the mind is in over-drive and those more sensitive places within each one of us become neglected. DLSF offers a welcoming and affordable retreat centre for spiritual seekers (individuals or small groups) open to experiencing opportunities intended to awaken our most authentic selves – our souls!

We invite you to come together in prayer and meditation designed to elevate one’s consciousness heavenward….to that place which bypasses intellectual understanding that can bring blissful peace. Our souls are uniquely equipped to do just that! In this simple prayer practice of Creating a Circle of Light, we will provide a sacred space in which to inspire a deep connection with The Divine.   Our understanding is that God’s Love is everywhere and all that is needed is a willingness to receive it within. DLSF retreats incorporate teachings such as how Angels influence our lives, soul progression and the difference between soul and mind.

DLSF Retreats or “Circles of Light” provide day-long, multi-day or week long opportunities for sharing spiritual journeys. We honour the spiritual heritage of all humanity. Ample opportunity is given for social interaction, discussion, contemplation and solitude.

Our group space and dining area can accommodate a circle of up to 20 people.

“Family Style”, affordable accommodation for up to 8 people is available onsite for participants looking for an alternative to local hotels, restaurants and other full service options. We welcome individuals seeking respite and recovery.

Al is a trance medium; Jeanne is a spiritual connector; together, working closely with a band of Celestial Spirit guides, they facilitate dynamic opportunities for soul awakening as well as physical and spiritual healing! Participants often experience blissful connections to The Divine, healing of physical injuries and old wounds.

Typically a one hour prayer and meditation is offered each morning and each afternoon. Between these sessions there are opportunities for solitude and free time to explore the scenic wonders of the Sunshine Coast. Workshops, study groups, the sharing of healing gifts, or just immersing oneself in the natural beauty of the garden or local beaches and forests can be arranged.

A list of possible topics for workshops or study groups is located on this website at Divine Love Ministerial Services.

A 40-minute ferry ride from the City of Vancouver, DLSF is located just 5 minutes away from the Langdale Ferry Terminal on the Sunshine Coast.  Public Transportation from the Vancouver airport is convenient and inexpensive. Access to the Sunshine Coast is by B.C. Ferries.

A car is not necessary; we can arrange pick up and drop off to/from the Langdale Ferry Terminal.

A popular tourist destination from May to October, there are lots of exciting things to do in Gibsons and on the coast:   kayaking, walks in the forest, beach combing, visiting the scenic village with its quaint shops, marina, market, restaurants and coffee bars.   For those with energy to burn the area offers diverse walking and hiking trails– we are located at the base of Soames Hill which offers a short, steep climb to a majestic and breathtaking look out.   For others who just want to kick back and relax or sunbathe, our wrap around deck with its view of the ocean, islands and snow-capped mountains is the place to be!   There are frequent wildlife spottings…orca whales… a birder’s paradise….with eagles soaring overhead. Cost

With “Family Style” expectations, we invite participants to contribute to meals, activities, taking care of each other and our sacred space!  We appreciate donations to cover our overhead costs (utilities, supplies, etc.) up to $25 per person for an overnite stay and $5 for each meal for a 2 or 3 day retreat. Longer stays can be negotiated. DLSF is volunteer driven and managed – there is no paid staff, caterers or cleaners. Every retreat guest is expected to help with meal preparation, cooking, cleaning and service.

For longer stays, DLSF offers volunteer opportunities include gardening, maintenance and administrative support.  For those who can afford it, donations are welcome to sustain DLSF Foundation activities, its global outreach, travel subsidies and Love-In-Action projects for Aids-orphaned children living in Africa.

Food

We use fresh, organic fruits and vegetables from our garden and local growers whenever possible.

We do our best to meet special dietary requests.

We feature vegetarian options at every meal; typical breakfasts include oatmeal and fruit or pancakes/eggs; home made soups, wraps and salads for lunch; seafood or lean meats with vegetables and whole grains for dinner. A juicer, ninja blender and barbeque are available.

Transportation, BC Ferries and Car Pooling

The Sunshine Coast is a popular tourist destination and the ferries are subject to overload during peak times; reservations are recommended for those planning to bring a car.  For more information: bcferries.com.

Public transportation from the Vancouver Airport is convenient and inexpensive. We recommend public transportation via skytrain to downtown Vancouver, then the EXPRESS BUS # 257 to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. The cost to walk on the ferry is approximately $15 for a round trip.

Al and I are happy to pick folks up at the Langdale Terminal as we are only 5 minutes away.
